Long-wave Instability in Anisotropic Double-diffusion.
Talk at the 1997 SIAM Dynamical Systems meeting, Snowbird, UT, May

Canonical--NOT!. Grilling Session,
September 20, 1995. An introduction to noncanonical Hamiltonian dynamics,
based on Phil Morrison's IFS report #640.
-
Modeling Shear Flow in Rayleigh-Benard Convection.
Qualifying Seminar, August 17, 1995. Commitee members: Wendell Horton,
Philip Morrison, Richard Hazeltine and Lynda Reichl. A briefer text on
this is the IFS newsletter article,
Energy
Conserving Truncations in Thermal Convection (IFS newsletter, XI, 1,
1995).

Collisionless Shocks and the Earth's Bow
Shock. An outline of this field presented in the Fall of 1994 for
a Gas Dynamics astronomy class. The four figures are not included.

What a Rindler Observer Sees in a Minkowski
Vacuum. A review of a nice relativistic effect very similar to Hawking
radiation, presented in the Fall of 1993 for a Relativity Theory class
(with Randy Correll and Mick Purcell). Though the calculation is not done
in detail, I've added a bibliography which points to more thorough sources
and experimental evidence for the effect.
