This term we will be using Piazza for class discussion. The system is highly catered
to getting you help fast and efficiently from classmates, the TA, and myself. Rather
than emailing questions to the teaching staff, I encourage you to post your questions
on Piazza. If you have any problems or feedback for the developers of piazza, email

We follow the course notes that will be on sale in Van Vleck Hall in the week
before classes start.

Exams. There will be three in class midterm exams. Time and location are to be announced soon. There will be no alternate exams.
Bring your student ID to each exam. Calculators and other computing devices will not be allowed on exams in this course.
TAs. Teaching assistants are:
Homework and Quizzes. Homework will be assigned every Friday in lecture, and later posted here. Homework will not be collected, but on every Thursday there will be a quiz in your discussion section on problems similar to those assigned the previous Friday. There will be no make ups for quizzes, but we will drop the lowest quiz score.
Grades. The exams and quizzes contribute to your grade according to the following weights:
