Exams.   There will be two evening midterm exams. Time and location are to be announced soon. There will be no alternate exams.

Bring your student ID to each exam. Calculators and other computing devices will not be allowed on exams in this course.

Homework and Quizzes. Homework will be assigned every Friday in lecture, and later posted here. Homework will not be collected, but on every Thursday there will be a quiz in your discussion section on problems similar to those assigend the previous Friday. There will be no make ups for quizzes, but we will drop the lowest quiz score.

Grades. The exams and quizzes contribute to your grade according to the following weights:
Exam 1 25%
Exam 2 25%
Final 35%
Discussion quizzes 15%
Your exam and quiz scores will be added with these weights, which gives you a semester score between 0% and 100%. At the end of the semester we then translate this semester score into a letter grade. We will use the following cutoffs:
F D C BC B AB A
  0–49   50–59   60–69   70–77   78–85   86–91   92–100
These cutoffs are approximate, tentative, and subject to change.
