Midterm 2

The second midterm will be on Wednesday March 29. The topics are from Rudin’s chapters 2 and 3, as well as the material on sequences found here for sequences in metric spaces, and here for sequences of real numbers.

There is also a list of practice and review problems for the second midterm.

The sixth homework assignment will not be collected, but is good for exam practice.

Midterm 1

The first midterm will be on Wednesday February 15. The topics on the exam are from Chapters 1 and 2 in Rudin’s book. More precisely:

Ordered field axioms, and in particular the least upper bound axiom.
Metric spaces: limit points, and open and closed subsets of a metric space.
