DIRECTIONS TO SOME HOTELS ON THE UW CAMPUS


Going to

Lowell Center (one of the university guest houses)

Coming from Rockford on I-90, you take exit 142A and follow the city highway to Madison for approximately six miles. Take the Park Street exit (exit #261A-B) and turn right at the end of the ramp. Follow Park Street for approximately three miles past a railroad underpass. Soon after the underpass, turn right on Langdon Street and left on Frances Street. Lowell Center (610 Langdon Street, phone (608) 256-2621) is on the corner on the left, the parking lot is right after it also on the left.

Van Vleck Hall, the math department building, is a 9-floor high-rise just to the left behind Bascom Hall (the neoclassical building with the flag pole on top) when you come up the hill from State Street or Langdon Street (backtracking on Langdon Street).

Graduate Madison (formerly Madison Inn)

Coming from Rockford on I-90, you take exit 142A and follow the city highway to Madison for approximately 6 miles. Take the Park Street exit and turn right at the end of the ramp. Follow Park Street for approximately 3 miles past a railroad underpass. Soon after the underpass, turn right on Langdon Street and right on Frances Street. Graduate Madison (601 Langdon Street, phone (608) 257-4391) is on the corner on the right.

Doubletree Hotel

Coming from Rockford on I-90, you take exit 142A and follow the city highway to Madison for approximately six miles. Take the Park Street exit and turn past at the end of the ramp. Follow Park Street for approximately three miles past a railroad underpass. Soon after the underpass, turn right on Johnson Street. The Doubletree Hotel (525 West Johnson Street, phone (608) 251-5511) is down a few blocks on the right.

Van Vleck Hall, the math department building, is a 9-floor high-rise just to the left behind Bascom Hall (the neoclassical building with the flag pole on top) when you come up the hill from State Street, which runs parallel to Johnson Street two blocks to the north.

Coming from Milwaukee, La Crosse, or Minneapolis

Follow the directions into town from Milwaukee or from La Crosse or Minneapolis. When you reach University Avenue and follow the walking directions above.
