Geometry and Topology of Singularities
Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy
Bucharest, Romania, May 25-29, 2026
~Dedicated to the memory of Mihai Tibăr~

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The conference is dedicated to the memory of Mihai Tibăr, a mathematician whose recent passing has left a lasting impact on our community. Mihai was known for his significant contributions to Singularity Theory, Topology and Algebraic Geometry, as well as for inspiring those around him with a deep passion for mathematics. This event brings together colleagues, students, and friends to reflect on his work, share ideas, and continue the conversations that he valued so much. We hope to honor Mihai's legacy by cultivating the same spirit of curiosity and collaboration that defined his work throughout his career.
The main topics of the conference include:
- Hypersurface singularities
- Singularities of maps
- Singularities in optimization
