Second Announcement
The scientific activity of the
conference will consist of a series of invited one-hour lectures,
and of several shorter sessions of contributed talks.

Invited Hours Speakers
In addition, Anthony Carbery (University of Edinburgh) and James Wright (University of New South Wales) will give hour lectures which will be instructional in nature, targeted at graduate students and recent Ph.D.s. We hope to post a tentative schedule of the invited talks in late December on this webpage.
Shorter Talks
The Organizing Committee will arrange a limited number of shorter talks each afternoon. Please inform the Committee if you wish to give a talk and submit a title by December 11th.

There will be a $20 registration fee for the Conference in order to help defray the cost of refreshments during morning and afternoon breaks. This fee will be collected at the conference.
Reception
An informal opening reception will be held in the 9th Floor Lounge of Van Vleck Hall on the evening of Wednesday, January 6th, starting at 7:30 PM.
Banquet
There will be a banquet for participants in the Conference, for faculty and staff at UW-Madison, and for their guests on Saturday evening, January 9, 1999. This event is dedicated to Professor Stephen Wainger . The banquet will be held in Tripp Common in the Wisconsin Memorial Union, starting at 7:00 PM. The banquet will be proceeded by a cash bar starting at 6:00 PM. The cost of the banquet will be $22 per person.
Those wishing to attend the banquet must complete the appropriate portion of the
Registration Form. Please indicate the number of people and their choices for entrée. Reservations for the banquet must be made no later than Friday, December 11, 1998. Payment may be made by cash or check at the Conference.Support
This conference is supported in part by the National Science Foundation and the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications. The Organizing Committee hopes to be able to provide some support for local expenses for some graduate students and recent Ph.D.s attending the Conference. However, because of limited funding, the Committee will not be able to make commitments of support until after the conference is over. Please inform the Committee if you would like to be considered for support. Please provide the name of your advisor and the subject or your thesis on the

Participants are expected to make reservations on their own.
