If traveling by air, one should fly into DTW (Detroit Metropolitan Airport).
To get from DTW to Ann Arbor, you may use one of the following:
- taxi (Metrocab at airport): ~$70
- Uber/Lyft: ~$40 if not surge pricing
- AirRide: $12-15 one way, $22-30 roundtrip. Comfortable bus with Wi-Fi. Drops off near Blake Transit Center in Ann Arbor (so might need to take a bus/Uber/taxi from BTC to the hotel after that)
- any of the different shuttle services
If traveling by train, there is an Amtrak station in Ann Arbor (ARB).
If we are providing any funding for your travel,
please keep all of your travel related receipts. There will be more information given at the conference.
Lodging information
Most participants receiving lodging support will be staying at The University Inn. There is a
Trader Joe's next to it. The hotel also has a continental breakfast.
Participants who are receiving lodging support do NOT need to make a
reservation or pay at check-in.
Speakers, panelists, and organizers will be staying at the Bell Tower Hotel, the Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast, the Burnt Toast Inn, and the Inn at the Michigan League.

participants who wish to stay closer to the math department. Again,
participants are advised to reserve their lodging ASAP.
Local information
The math department is in East Hall, 530 Church St. All main talks, and the lightening talk sessions, will be in East Hall Room 1360. The parallel sessions will be in three smaller classrooms. Coffee breaks and reception will be held in the East Hall Atrium just outside of East Hall Room 1360.
The walk between the University Inn and the math department is about 35 minutes. One can also take a bus, in particular, the #4 (either 4A or 4B works) from TheRide. It runs approximately every 10 minutes during the day, then every 30 minutes until 11pm. Here are the schedules:
Fares for TheRide local bus transit are $1.50 per trip, cash only. If you do not have exact change, you can request a change card for future use.
There is public parking available at the Forest Ave Parking Garage,
located at 650 S Forest Ave. The rate is $1.20 / hr payable in cash or
card. There is also some metered street parking available for $1.80 /
hr on Church St and E. University St, payable in quarters or with the
epark app.
LG&TBBQ
The LG&TBBQ Barbecue event will be at the Burns Park warming shelter, which is a 15
minute walk from the Math department and a 25 minute walk from the
University Inn.
