GENERAL INFORMATION:
The conference is focused around recent developments in Singularity Theory and its applications.
The main topics of the conference are:
- Fundamental groups of algebraic varieties
- Hodge-theoretic aspects of singularities
- Characteristic classes of singular varieties
The conference will take place during July 25-31, 2011, in Hefei, China, and it will be hosted by the University of Science and Technology of China.

CONFERENCE TRIP:
The conference will feature a two-day trip to the
Yellow Mountain,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's major tourist destinations. Please consult the Guidebook for more details.
PROCEEDINGS VOLUME:
We intend to publish a Conference Proceedings volume, containing expository and research articles in
Singularity Theory. All submissions will be refereed. Speakers and other participants are
encouraged to submit their contributions to the proceedings volume, no later than November 30, 2011.
All potential contributors should email the organizers in advance.
LODGING:
This will be taken care of by Ms. Hwang.
Each registered participant is kindly
asked to email Ms. Hwang a scanned
copy of his/her passport page. This information is needed for accommodation and trip arrangements.
The conference hotel is Novotel.

Registration for this event is now closed. Registered speakers and
participants who wish to submit
updates related to their schedule, as well as information about their talks, should
contact the organizers directly.
VISA FOR CHINA:
Most participants will need a visa to enter China. If needed, invitation letters will be
provided by Ms. Hwang upon request. Please allow enough time to obtain a visa before your visit.
