Exams, homework and grades.
There will be two midterm exams, both of which will be held on a Monday evening from 7:30pm to 9pm, in a location which will be announced.
The first midterm will be held on OCTOBER 5 in Van Vleck Hall room B239.
The second will be held on NOVEMBER 2, also in B239 van Vleck Hall.
The midterms will cover all material treated in class before the midterm, and since the previous midterm. They will be based on the assigned homework problems.
The final exam will be held as announced in the time table. The location will be announced (the locations of all final exams in mathematics are always posted near the elevators in vanVleck Hall during the week before the final).
The final exam is cumulative.
Homework will be assigned every monday during class, and collected every friday in class.
The grade will be computed as follows: for each midterm you can get 75 points. The homework will also be worth 75 points in total. The final exam will be worth 150 points. At the end of the semester your scores over the midterms, homework and final will be added, and a curve will be set.
