The rough plan (which is subject to change) is to cover the following sections of Edwards and Penney:

Chapter 1: Sections 1-6.
Chapter 2: Sections 1,2, and 4.
Chapter 3: Sections 1-6.
Chapter 4: Sections 1-4, maybe 7.
Chapter 5: Sections 1-6.
Chapter 6: Section 1.
Chapter 7: Sections 1-4.
Chapters 8 & 9: Selected topics to be determined.

Final Exam

There will be no final exam.

Midterm Exams

We will have 3 midterm exams in class on the following dates:

Midterm 1: Friday, February 18
Midterm 2: Friday, April 1 (seriously)
Midterm 3: Friday, May 6

Homework
Homework will be assigned throughout the week, and posted at the bottom of this page.
At 5pm each Friday, the assignment will be final.
It will be due the following Friday to your TA.

Late homeworks are not accepted.
Grading
Your final grade is based on the Midterm Exams (25% each) and the Homework (25%). I will assign letter grades at the end of the semester using a generous curve.

Other resources
The math department has a drop-in tutorial service, the Math lab. It runs afternoon/evening, Monday through Thursday. It will help with small questions in your homework, etc, but it will not tutor entensively.

Assignments
The schedule of assignments may be updated frequently, and is not final until Friday afternoons. But, after 5pm each Friday, the assignment will not change.
