The final exam is on Tuesday, December 15, in Salomon 001 from 2:00-5:00.
I will have office hours on Monday from 11-12 and 1-3 in my office Kassar 313.
Math 0170 is a second course in differential and integral calculus, focusing on techniques of integration, sequences and series, and an introduction to differential equations. We will cover (most of) chapters 7, 9, some of 10, and 11. A detailed syllabus is developing below.
The textbook for this course is "Single Variable Calculus, Early Transendentals", by James Stewart

GradingYour grade is based on Homework (10%), two Midterm Exams (25% each), and a Final Exam (40%).
HomeworkHomework will be assigned every week on this page, and will usually be due on Fridays.
Scroll down to find the assignments.
Late homeworks are not accepted.
Midterm ExamsThe midterm exams will be in class on the following dates:Midterm 1: Wednesday, October 7
Midterm 2: Friday, November 13
Final ExamThe final exam is cumulative: it will draw from all of the material covered in the course.
The final exam is scheduled for December 15, 2:00-5:00 PM, at a location to be determined.
The date, time, and location of the final exam are set by the registrar and I cannot change them.
Everyone in my two sections of Math 0170 MUST take this final exam at this date and time.
There are no excuses other than incapacitating illness or family emergency for missing the final.
Calculator policyThe use of a calculator will not be permitted on the midterms nor on the final, nor will you need them.
Academic HonestyBrown University's policies regarding academic honesty apply to this course, and I take academic honesty very seriously.
For more information see Brown's Academic Code.
Resource centerIn addition to my office hours, you may obtain help at the Math Resource Center. The Math Resource Center helps students with Calculus, both with homework problems and with concepts from lecture. Math Rescource Center takes place Monday through Thursday from 8-10pm in KH 105 (enter through the back door). It is a free of charge walk-in help sessions for students. Begins operation on Monday, September 14.
See MRC for more information about the MRC this semester.
Schedule/SyllabusThe following syllabus will be updated periodically with new homework assignments and sections to be covered during the week.
The schedule will usually lay out a few weeks ahead of where we are at any given time, and is subject to change.
Once a due date appears for an assignment, the assignment will not change.
